Woman, boy hurt in Papar mishap
PAPAR: A woman believed to be in her 30s and a boy suffered serious injuries after an accident involving a Toyota Vios and a lorry at Kg Tanaki along Km 21 Jalan Lama Papar-KK, Tuesday.

District Police Chief DSP Batholomew Ak Umpit said the incident happened about 9.20pm when the Vios, driven by a man in his 20s, along with the victims were on their way from Beaufort to Kota Kinabalu.

He said the impact caused the driver to lost control of his vehicle.

Batholomew said the driver was confused due to the absence of road signage due to the ongoing Pan Borneo Highway construction which caused him to hit the lorry. “The woman and the boy were both rushed to the Papar Hospital along with the driver who suffered minor injuries,” he said, adding that the lorry driver sustained no injuries.

Investigating Officer Inspector Jagger Jeffrey was at the scene and investigating the incident under Section 43 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
