Maybank lowers BR. BLR
Kuala Lumpur: Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) has further reduced its base rate (BR) and base lending rate (BLR) by an additional five basis points (bps) to 3.00 per cent per annum (pa) and 6.65 per cent pa, respectively, effective Friday.

In a statement, Maybank said similarly, its Islamic BR and base financing rate (BFR) would also be reduced by another five bps to 3.00 per cent pa and 6.65 per cent pa, respectively. Maybank first lowered its BR by 20 bps to 3.05 per cent pa from 3.25 per cent pa, while its BLR was also revised to 6.70 per cent pa from 6.90 per cent pa on May 9, 2019, in line with the reduction in the overnight policy rate (OPR) by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM).

Similarly, its Islamic BR and BFR were also reduced by 20 bps to 3.05 per cent pa from 3.25 per cent pa, and to 6.70 per cent pa from 6.90 per cent pa, respectively.

BNM cut the OPR by 25 bps to 3.00 per cent from 3.25 per cent on May 7, 2019. – Bernama
