TUARAN: A family was shocked to find a 25kg python in their house at Bandar Sierra, in Telipok, Sunday. It was learnt that the three-metre long reptile found its way into the premises as the family was preparing for sahur (meal consumed early in the morning by Muslims before fasting) at about 3.30am.

“We heard things falling and saw the python slithering from the kitchen area to the living room before ending up in the bathroom,” said Shahran, 53.

He said the snake was not aggressive but its presence did cause them to be worried for their safety, prompting him to call the Civil Defence Force for help.

Tuaran Civil Defence Force officer, Paulina Francis, said a team rushed to the scene after being alerted about 3.34am.

She said it took the team about five minutes to capture the snake, adding that the operation ended about 4.19am and the reptile was released into the forest.
