KOTA KINABALU: Justin Ganai is hoping to get the services of two former Under-21 players to strengthen his President Cup squad in the remaining season.
The head coach is set to take advantage of the current open transfer window to register striker Hamran Peter and defender Zaki Sapri who have just returned to full training with the team after surgery carried out on their knees last October to fill up the two available Under-22 slots.

This season, each team in the competition are allowed to have three Under-22 players in the squad, and Eddey Ladius, also from last season’s President Cup squad is the other one registered earlier.
Hamran, who played and scored once for the senior squad last season, and Zaki, who captained the junior side, both suffered knee injuries towards the end of the season and had to undergo surgery.
“Both players are ninety per cent recovered from their respective surgeries and what they need now is to have more games under their belt.
“I believe to have them in the team will definitely improve the quality of our squad, and I have instructed Safa (Sabah Football Association) to register Hamran early and I have also suggested Zaki to be added to the squad as well before the closing window on June 6,” he said on Tuesday.
