Man cheats death in Ranau collision

RANAU: A local cheated death when his Proton Saga collided with an express bus, Wednesday, near the location where an elderly woman was killed after being hit by another express bus recently.
Ranau Fire and Rescue Department Chief, Ridwan Mohd Taib, said the incident happened at Km 40 of the Ranau-Telupid road in Kg Paginatan at about 11am.

“We received a call from the public about the incident and rushed a Scania fire engine and an EMRS vehicle to the scene along with seven personnel, led by Fire and Rescue Officer, Wasli Saupin.
“The Proton driver suffered minor injuries and was extricated by the public and handed over to the ambulance unit.
“The express bus driver and passengers escape unhurt,” he said.
About a week ago, an elderly woman died on the spot after she was rammed by an express bus while crossing the road near the health clinic, Monday afternoon.

Ranau Police Chief, DSP Mohd Shahrul Datuk Hj Abdul Wahab who confirmed the incident, said it happened at about 3pm at Km 151.6 of the Kota Kinabalu-Sandakan road, near the Kg Paginatan Health Clinic.
