Ex-Sultan’s remains flown to Kuantan
SUBANG JAYA: The remains of Paduka Ayahanda Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah were flown to Kuantan, Pahang using the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) aircraft from its air base in Subang, here at 6.30 pm.

The remains of Sultan Ahmad Shah were flown using the A400M aircraft and accompanied by the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, Sultanah Hajah Kalsom and members of the Pahang royal family.

Upon arrival at the Kuantan Air Force Base, the remains would be taken to the Istana Abu Bakar in Pekan.

Also present to pay their last respects including Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari, Malaysian Armed Forces chief General Tan Sri Zulkifli Zainal Abidin and Selangor police chief Datuk Noor Azam Jamaludin.

Earlier, the hearse carrying the remains of Sultan Ahmad Shah left the Istana Negara compound at 5.40pm and made its way in heavy rain to the RMAF air base in Subang.

Sultan Ahmad Shah, 88, died at the National Heart Institute (IJN) here, at 8.50am Wednesday. – Bernama
