The new-look court took about six months to complete with the floor paintings done by young local artist One Space Wonder.
“I am very excited to see the opening of this court because it was done with long-term planning and the input from a group of young people in its design, and it was not an overnight job just because of my position as Youth and Sports Minister today.

“This is only the beginning with this new look basketball court. It is based on the street basketball concept from the United States and Europe to combine arts and creativity. I would like to see more to be built in parks around Luyang and Kota Kinabalu residential areas,” he said.
He added that the surrounding area of the park will also be further developed allowing the residents to develop a sense of community.
