Fatal stabbing of hubby: Woman detained in LD

LAHAD DATU: Police detained a 26-year-old woman for allegedly stabbing to death her “abusive” husband with a kitchen knife in their rented room at Bandar Cenderawasih, Sahabat 7, on Friday.
District Police Chief ACP Nasri Mansor said the suspect, a passport holder, was believed to have stabbed her husband because she could no longer withstand him abusing and hitting her.

“The woman also claimed that her husband, a local identified as Rasalan Jaya, 32, who worked as a security guard, had failed to provide for the suspect and their children,” he said.
“Unable to control her emotions and anger, the suspect attacked her husband who was sleeping with a knife about 7.20am,” he added.
The victim, who was stabbed on his right stomach, ran to a clinic nearby and was later brought to the district hospital where he died at 5.05am on Saturday.

“The suspect stayed in the room until the police came about two hours after the incident. She also led the police to the recovery of the knife believed used in the incident,” said Nasir.

The suspect is currently being detained to facilitate investigation into the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code
