Sparks from Tg Aru pole cause concern

City Hall is urged to check the internal wiring of their streetlight which is standing next to a road junction at Jalan Serih in Tanjung Aru town, as the facility was seen throwing sparks recently.
“I was standing outside my workplace a few minutes ago when I saw sparks raining down from the square-shaped panel on top of the utility pole,” said ROS, an electrician, who know all too well about sparks and their danger.

She said the bright flickering caused quite a scare especially to those walking by the area at that time.
“The relevant authority must address this problem soon as possible because there are people usually crossing the road divider where this utility pole is standing to reach the bus stop,” she added.
What struck her most to highlight the matter was the fact that students usually walk at that area to reach the nearby shops.
“I fear for their safety especially during this rainy season,” she added.
