SUKAU: Sukau Assemblyman Datuk Saddi Haji Abdul Rahman urged traders to improve cleanliness of the Pekan Sukau to ensure the area continues to be tourist spot and for investors interested in expanding their business.
He said the people, especially traders involved in “Tamu Minggu” business activities should take care of the place before and after their business hours.

“What disappoints me is that after doing business, there are traders leaving trash in their premises and hoping that these will be cleared by Kinabatangan District Council (MDK) staff.
Saddi said such attitude had an adverse effect on the Pasar Tamu environment, which is part of a significant area in Pekan Sukau.
“If our cleanliness is important, it is good that Sukau’s village will be able to attract more tourists and the government is supposed to provide support, in order to develop this area,” he said.
Saddi urged the Kinabatangan District office to increase the cleaning activity in Pekan Sukau more often and engage public and traders in their cleaning activity.
