PENAMPANG: Plans are afoot for Sabah to produce its own cooking oil this year with the aim of creating more jobs for locals. Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal (pic) said so far four areas have so far been identified for the development of cooking oils i.e. in Tawau, Lahad Datu, Sandakan and Keningau at a development cost of close to RM5 million each.
He said the four cooking oil mills are expected to commence operations this year. “The name of the cooking oil will be announced later and the price is also reasonable.
