Police hulksters  out to reclaim  overall crown
Kota Kinabalu: The State Police contingent is hoping to reclaim the overall title at the Mr Sabah Bodybuilding and Physique Championship to be staged at the Centre Atrium, 1 Borneo Hypermall, this weekend.

DSP Yampil Garai, who is manager for the Sabah Police contingent bodybuilding sports, and assisted by ASP Mecheal Gabriel and Inspector Mohd Aminuddin Arshad, said in a press conference on Thursday that they have set a three-gold target in this year’s meet.

He added that since the team was established in 2009, they have never failed to produce their best to help the Police and State to shine in national competitions.

“In Mr Sabah 2017, our team successfully defended the overall title for the third consecutively time and one of our athletes was also crowned Mr Sabah for the fourth time.

“In 2018, we did not participate due to the general election and this year we will be represented by 15 athletes with two officials as referees, and this line-up is capable of achieving at least three gold medals for the contingent,” he said.

The flag handing over ceremony was held at the Kepayan Police headquarters conducted by ACP Abd Radzak Abd Ghani, representing State Police Commissioner Datuk Omar Mammah.

The full line-up of the Sabah Police contingent are referees Yampil Garai and Juamian Sappe, while the athletes are Mohd Asyraf Akhmal, Jainudin Awang @ Sahat, George Sligi, Martin Motiun, Pitohdoni Galawis, Mohd Sharnickmall Abdul Rahman, Romanus Andrian, Andrew Bob Anak Singun, Charles J Suanam, Abd Rahim Atin, Mohd Izzul Hazziq Rafaee, Chang Tian Hock, and Riano Engah.
