Better access for Tampasak folks
PAPAR: The Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Tampasak and the nearby folks will soon be provided with better road access to the school was well as the nearby villages.

Papar MP Ahmad Hassan said the road condition was in a bad shape and require immediate rectification.

"Initially I thought the road was going to be okay as it was quite close to the main road. When I went though it was unpaved.

"The road condition is definitely unsuitable for small vehicles and the worrying part during the rainy season potholes would be filled up with water, making it dangerous for road users," he told Daily Express at the SL Tampasak Hari Guru, Kaamatan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, Wednesday.

Also present were SK Tampasak Headmaster Bahrun Kasran and Parents and Teachers Associaion (PTA) Chief Cecilia Roger Tambud as well as teachers.

He said the next course of action will be proceeded where discussions will be carried out with the Public Works Department to determine the exact cost of the road to ensure the necessary funds will be acquired be upgrade the road – which is expected to take two to three months' time.

Ahmad also said that there are a number of schools in the constituency that have been categorised as dilapidated schools and will carry out the necessary upgrade and repairs depending on the allocations that are provided.

"If we have the funds we will surely give it to them. So that the people can feel the development that our government bring especially to the schools," he added.

Meanwhile for the event, he also urged the PTA to constantly carry out activities within their respective schools to enhance communication and understanding between parents, teachers and pupils.

He said this would be of a great contribution of helping and highlighting issues that are not only found among the pupils but also within school which both parties could carry out further discussions.

He also said that the Papar Constituency office will stay resilient in giving support to the associations in the district to ensure that necessary activities and programmes are being carried out.

"It is our duty to give assistance to whatever we can especially in terms of providing aids to the association whenever programmes are being organized.

"They will need to apply to us when planning a programme. We are always open and will help what we are able to help with," he added. He also commended the efforts of SK Tampasak PTA in carrying out the three-in-one programme.
