Sports Ministry hopes to be more involved

KOTA KINABALU: The Youth and Sports Ministry hopes to get more involved in programmes to develop futsal in the State, said Assistant Minister Arunarnsin Taib on Tuesday.
He said this after a briefing by the organising committee of Milo Champions Clinic programme for futsal led by programme manager Azlan Soaibah accompanied by coaches Azman Soaibah and Abd Hamid Noor Satimin in a courtesy call at his office.

The eight-week programme headed by national futsal coach Chiew Chun Yong, which involved some 50 participants started two weeks ago is targeting to unearth talents aged 7-12.
“The ministry always welcomes such programmes to ensure the State remains competitive in the sport and a force in the country especially in the Sukma Games.

“I am looking forward to see such programmes will involve the ministry and MSN in the future, and we also plan to cooperate with the private sectors such as Milo to implement it in order for us to identify talents from all corners of Sabah,” he added.
Also present at the meeting was ministry’s Deputy Permanent Secretary Neldin Gimbang.
