Cops confirm Viva found at KKIP stolen

A stolen black Perodua Viva bearing a Kota Kinabalu’s registration plate number was recovered in a secluded area in Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP), Telipok, following a tip off by a member of the public on July 8.
A caller who wishes to remain anonymous contacted Hotline recently to inquire whether the vehicle was dumped at the roadside after it was stolen from elsewhere given all four of its rims and tyres were nowhere to be seen in that area. ADVERTISEMENT
“I already suspected something was amiss when I see the unfamiliar car without wheels being left in that spot for several days,” he said.

A City Traffic Police spokesman, when contacted, said the car was reported to be stolen by its owner.
“We appreciate the cooperation from those who took the initiative to report the matter to our attention,” he said, adding that the car had since been towed to the police station at Manggatal. (OV)
