TUARAN: A family of four lost half of their home in a landslide in Kampung Balabakan, Kiulu on Monday. The 20-metre landslide struck at 4pm followed by another at 9pm and the next day at 12 pm.
The occupant, Charleys Joseph, 37, said she was with her five-year-old son upstairs while her husband and nine-year-old son were downstairs when the incident happened.

“There was a heavy downpour with thunderstorm when we felt a strong tremor which we thought was an earthquake,” she said, adding her husband immediately called her downstairs and saw earth and water gush into the house.
