“The government will ensure that mosques are managed by those who are knowledgeable in religion,” he said after officiating a football competition organised by Sandakan Maahad Tahfiz Association, here, recently.
On the tournament, Arifin said such programmes will be able to produce a Tahfiz who is active in sports.
“The recent success of the Sabah football team to win the Premier League should also be emulated by Tahfiz students to excel in any field and to be persevere.”
Sandakan Maahad Tahfiz Association chairman Mulyadi Kasimin said some 12 teams took part in the two-day tournament.
