Bina Puri bags rm303m contract to build road in Iraq

KUALA LUMPUR: Bina Puri Holdings Bhd has secured a contract worth RM303 million for the construction of a dual-lane road in Nasiriya, a city in southern Iraq’s province of Thi Qar.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Monday, the group said the 36-month contract, awarded to wholly-owned subsidiary Bina Puri Sdn Bhd on June 11, was in respect of a road stretching from the Al-Islah junction to Al-Jabayish.

In a media statement, it disclosed that the road would span 74.5 km and the company would also build seven bridges.

Bina Puri said the latest win increased its project book order to RM1.56 billion.

It added that the contract was expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings and net assets for the financial year ending June 30, 2020.

At 3.40 pm, Bina Puri shares rose two sen to 19.5 sen. – Bernama
