Pandelela unable to add to tally
Kuala Lumpur: National diving queen Pandelela Rinong was unable to add to the national camp’s medal tally at the 18th Fina World Diving Championship in Gwangju, South Korea, Wednesday.

The Sarawak lass finished fifth in the final of the women’s 10-metre platform with her total of 349.25 points, according to https://www.fina.org. The gold medal was won by Chen Yuxi who garnered 439.00 points with Chen’s compatriot Lu Wei taking the silver medal with 377.80 points while the bronze medal went to America’s Delaney Schnell with her total of 364.20 points.

Pandelela, 26, already has a silver in Gwangju after she partnered Leong Mun Yee to finish second in the women’s 10m synchronised platform on Sunday.

This was a slight improvement for Pandelela and Mun Yee as the pair had won the bronze medal in the same event in two previous editions – 2009 in Rome and 2013 in Barcelona.

For the record, Pandelela had also clinched the bronze medal in the 10m individual platform in 2015 edition in Kazan, and also in the 10m synchronised platform with Cheong Jun Hoong in 2017 edition in Budapest.
