Stop manipulation road rage incident: Cops
Kuala Lumpur: Certain parties have been found to be manipulating the road rage incident on the North-South Expressway in Kajang on Saturday which led to the death of a man, by playing up racial sentiments, Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Mazlan Mansor said today.

He said such actions could affect the unity of the people as well as public order in the country.

“Various speculations have been made on social media platforms over the case,” he said in a statement here today.

He said the police had released several official statements on the cause of the incident, and arrests had been made to assist with investigations.

Mazlan advised the public not to abuse social media platforms to fan racial sentiments.

He also urged eyewitnesses at the scene to come forward and assist the authorities in investigating the case.

Last Saturday, a man was killed after being involved in an altercation following a misunderstanding which resulted from a road accident at KM239 of the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Expressway, near Bandar Baru Bangi, here.

The police have since arrested a couple to assist with investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

The two suspects were remanded for seven days beginning yesterday. – Bernama
