Warisan Putatan mulls KDM task force

KOTA KINABALU: Warisan Putatan members called for the setting up of a task force to ensure the party secures more support from the KDM community so it can continue to govern the State.

 Its Putatan District Council Councillor Benedict John Steven Malanjum said this during a courtesy call on Assistant Law and Native Affairs Minister cum Petagas Assemblyman Datuk Uda Sulai at his office in Wisma PKNS on Tuesday.

 Benedict said the 33-member group (who included village chiefs and Majlis Pengurusan Kommuniti Kampung (MPKK) members) paid an official courtesy visit to congratulate Uda on his election win and appointment to his ministerial post and also to present him the working papers for the setting up of the “KDM Putatan P173 Task Force”.

 “The task force comprised early supporters of Parti Warisan in Putatan who have set up branches in their respective areas and its goals are to fight for the rights of KDM party supporters.

  Among the task force’s objectives are to increase the number of KDM members in Warisan and to strengthen and serve as a bridge between the KDM community and the Petagas Assemblyman. 

Among the aims of the task force was also that the party leadership and Petagas Assemblyman can consider increasing the number of Native Customary Chiefs and their representatives for Petagas in order to ensure the full support for Warisan from the KDM community there.

 Uda expressed his thanks to those involved in the setting up of the KDM Putatan task force. 

“Such an  effort is aimed at strengthening Warisan party in Putatan and Petagas area which comprised communities of various races and faiths.
