Christian’s SEA Games preparations on right track

KOTA KINABALU: Christian Didier Chin’s preparation for the Manila SEA Games at the end of the year is right on track after his recent good outing at the Liga Tennis Open in Bali, Indonesia.

He won the men’s open doubles title, runner-up in the mixed doubles open and managed to reach the quarterfinal stage in the men’s open singles.

In the doubles, he and Steve He Hao Yuan lived up to their top billing by beating Wisnu Adi Nugroho and Iqbalbilal Saputra in the final.

The mixed doubles final saw him and Comank Chan lose to top seeds Indaryanto I and Andriya Frederica, while in the singles, he was beaten by eventual finalist Iqbalbilal Saputra.

Christian will be taking part in all three categories in Manila where it will be staged from November 30-December 7, and his next tournament is at the ITF M25 Indonesia Futures in Jakarta from August 19-25. He is scheduled to play two tournaments in September starting with ITF Thailand (September 2-8) followed by the National Leg 4 tournament, Kuala Lumpur (September 17-21).

In October, he will be taking part in the ITF Vietnam (September 30-October 13) and the National leg 5 (October 16-20).

ITF Tunisia or Egypt tour will be his intended target in November followed by the Kuala Lumpur Open (November 13-17) before the Manila trip.
