Sabah emerge joint third
The Sabah deaf futsal team.
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah finished joint third in the 3rd Malaysia Deaf Futsal Championship held at the All Star Futsal in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan which concluded on Thursday.

They were denied a spot in the final after losing Kelantan 4-8 in the last four and had to be content with sharing third place with Negeri Sembilan who lost to Pahang in the other semi-final.

The team coached by Mail @ Ismail Tudiki had earlier took the second spot in the group stage behind Pahang.

President of the Sabah Deaf Sports Association, Spancer Soo, was delighted with their achievement.

According to him, Hasbuddin Naung who was named tournament best goalkeeper and teammate Muhammad Tarmizi Jamikah and another player will be called up for international duty.

“The trio has been called up for centralised training and will be part of the national team going for the Asia Pacific Deaf Futsal Championship in Hong Kong in November,” he said.

He thanked Sabah Sports Council, Borneo Sports Arena, and others who have given their support to the team.
