The Water Department is monitoring supply to one part of Putatan as several homes and businesses there have been experiencing a shortage for some time.A spokesman for the agency said the falling water levels at the reservoir servicing this area were to blame for the supply woes.ADVERTISEMENT
“This has given rise to the low water pressure at some of the affected premises, while others do not even get a drop,” he said.
“We are in the midst of discussions on how to best address this problem.”
Despite admitting that there was no quick-fix to the shortage, he said the agency was keeping an eye on the situation to ensure its consumers did receive a supply.
“We urge the public living around the town to report any irregularities directly to us so that we can attend to these problems as soon as possible.”ADVERTISEMENT
LOU, who lives in Taman Desa Seri Ketiau, claimed, that for a period, he and his family had to put up in a “cheap hotel” because of the water woes in the neighbourhood.
“The taps in my home were dry and we did not know when the supply would be restored,” he said.

“When our friends and relatives in other parts of the town also began to experience this problem, my wife and I decided to take a room at a hotel.”
Lou said he had tried contacting the Department about his supply problems.
“I phoned the agency’s Care-line several times since my taps first ran dry, but each call went unanswered.”
He said this was not the first time that he had been without water at home.
“This has been happening on and off for the past two years.”
Lou said the neighbourhood, which was located about five kilometres away from town, was made up of some 60 homes.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
