TM to deploy work- force for pruning works near cables

The Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM ) will deploy their workforce to Taman Utara Gudon in Sepanggar, Manggatal, to prune some tree branches that have tangled with their transmission cables.A resident there contacted Hotline recently to highlight the matter as he feared the thickness of the creepers will affect their internet connectivity and landline services later.

A TM spokeswoman, when contacted recently, said it hoped to get the cooperation of the landowner where the trees are standing.
“We will also clear the creepers that have blanketed our equipment at other parts of the housing estate to ensure our subscribers there will receive an optimum land line services at all times,” she said.
Meanwhile, she advised all homeowners or landowners to refrain from planting any tree so close to the utility poles to prevent its limbs from coming into contact with the cable line.
“We try to avoid creepers from covering our service poles because it can corrode the surface of the equipment,” she added.
