Malaysian NGOs hand memo to UN
PUTRAJAYA: Fifteen Malaysian NGOs Friday handed over to a United Nations office here a memorandum condemning India’s revocation of the special status of Indian-administered Kashmir.

The group was represented by Malaysia Muslim People’s Coalition president Amir Amsaa Alla Pitchay in handing over the memorandum to United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) assistant resident representative Patrick Pee.

“We strongly condemn the unilateral action of India,” Amir Amsaa told reporters after handing over the memorandum

The Indian government recently scrapped Article 370 of India’s constitution that guarantees special rights to Jammu and Kashmir and split the region into two federal territories. Pakistan, which administers a part of Kashmir, announced soon after that it will be downgrading diplomatic relations with India. – Bernama.
