186 fake watches, wallets and bags seized in S’kan

SANDAKAN: Marine police seized 186 fake wrist watches as well as 226 wallets and bags of various brands worth RM29,405 in a raid at a premises in Bandar Sibuga Jaya, here.
Sabah Marine Police (Region 4) Commander ACP Mohamad Pajeri Ali said the 5am raid on Friday was carried out following a surveillance by the Marine Intelligence Unit.

“Initial investigations revealed that the goods were believed to have been smuggled from neighbouring country by sea and sold in Sandakan for as low as RM10,” he said.

He said a 66-year-old man, believed to be the owner of the goods, was also arrested.
The case is being investigated under Section 8(2)(b) of the Trade Descriptions Act 2011 for supplying or offering to supply any goods for which a false trade description is used.
