Tawau Fisheries Association Chairman Koh Teck Kiang sought permission from the Council to obtain a 20-year lease of the market pier management rights in order to indemnify their members.
“It is important for the association to have management rights to the Tawau fish market pier, so fishermen could load their fishery products,” he said.
The association also sought help from the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry to help upgrade facilities at the market pier, including roof installation.
