Malindo Air to help promote S’kan Food Fest

SANDAKAN: Sandakan Tourism Association (Stan) is partnering with Malindo Air in organising the second Sandakan Food and Agriculture Festival next month.
Stan President Teo Chee Kim said Malindo Air would undertake the promotion of the three-day festival beginning Sept 13 at Bandar Kim Fung, here, through the airline company’s social media platforms.

“Malindo Air has also generously provided three pairs of return air tickets from Sandakan to Kota Kinabalu in a lucky draw,” he told reporters after the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Stan and Malindo Air on the collaboration, here, Sunday.”Passengers can also make food redemption at the festival using Malindo Air’s boarding pass and the festival will be featured in MalindoMag and through the Malindo Air’s social media channels,” he said.
Teo said the festival was an effort to promote and showcase Sandakan’s diversity, from the culinary styles of the various communities here as well as its wide array of agricultural produce.
Malindo Air Regional Sales Manager Morgan Narayanasamy said the airline company now operates the Kota Kinabalu-Sandakan route four times weekly beginning Sunday, which could help boost arrivals in Sandakan.
As the new flight route augured well for the festival, it would also enhance the promotion of the Visit Malaysia 2020 campaign, he said.

Meanwhile, Sandakan Member of Parliament Vivian Wong said with Malindo Air flying to Sandakan, she hoped it would help Sandakan Airport register positive growth.
“The key is to achieve further growth that can put Sandakan on the world map,” she said.
