Chanyai Villa strata titles: Govt steps in

Kota Kinabalu: More than 150 Chanyai Villa unit owners can soon sigh a relief with the State Government stepping in to assist in solving their longstanding issue with their problematic strata titles. On Friday, Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Jimmy Wong, together with Likas Assemblyman Tan Lee Fatt, Kota Kinabalu MP Chan Foong Hin and Land and Survey Department Deputy Director (Development) Sernam Singh, held a meeting with Chanyai Villa residents along Mile 4, Jalan Tuaran regarding the matter.

“The residents are facing a longstanding problem of mistakes in their strata title details,” said Tan.
It was learnt that the problem had arisen due to the property developer’s legal firm using the wrong plans during the title ownership transfer process.

He said their land titles are expected be processed within two weeks.
