Drugs: 65 nabbed in weeklong KK operation

KOTA KINABALU: Sixty-five people aged between 10 and 60 were nabbed for various drug offences during a weeklong “Ops Sarang” since Aug 31, here.
Of the figure, three involved drug supply and distribution, 15 for drug possession and 47 for substance abuse, according to City Police Chief ACP Habibi Majinji, in a statement, Sunday.

“The operation focused on Kg Sembulan, Api-Api area, Kg Likas and Inanam town,” he said.
Forty-two of those detained were locals and the rest foreigners.
“Three of the individuals were detained for committing an offence under Section 39A (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, nine for committing an offence under Section 12(2) and 17 under Section 15(1)(A) of the same Act, respectively,” he said.
During the operation, a total of 17.84gm of Syabu worth RM892 were seized.
