Skipper nabbed for carrying five paperless Indonesians

TAWAU: A 26-year-old Indonesian boat skipper was nabbed for carrying five paperless fellow Indonesians, including a woman aged between 26 and 49, into Malaysia via Sg Melayu in Pulau Sebatik a about 9.30am, Monday.
Deputy Director (Operation) for Tawau Maritime Zone, Commander Maritime Mohd Yusri Hussin, said the skipper has legal travel document while his five passengers are paperless.

He said a team from the Tawau Maritime Zone stopped a passenger boat which was about to enter Sg Melayu in Sebatik from Tawau at the non-gazetted route.

“The boat and suspects were brought to the Maritime jetty for investigation under the Immigration Act 1959/63 for failure to produce legal travel documents while entering Malaysian waters,” he said.
