Woman found dead in lemongrass farm
KOTA BELUD: The body of a 62-year-old woman was found in a lemongrass farm, near her house at Kg Morolobou Timbang, Tuesday.

Narimah Moot, a Kadazandusun, who worked as a farmer, was found by villagers some 50 metres from her house about 8am.

Kota Belud Police Chief, Supt Mohd Zaidi Abdullah said initial findings showed that villagers were passing through the woman’s lemongrass farm to get to theirs when they found her lifeless body.

They immediately informed the village chief before alerting the police.

Statements taken from the woman’s next-of-kin showed that they last met on Sept 6 and that the woman had complained of back pain.

Zaidi said the woman lived alone in her house and her daily routine included tending to her lemongrass farm. Lemongrass buyers and wholesalers will come to her house every Tuesday to buy lemongrass.

He said the woman’s children also informed police that she was supposed to go for her high blood pressure review at the hospital but was unable to go as she was busy managing her farm.

“The woman is also a tuberculosis patient and has sought treatment at the Kota Belud Hospital,” he said.

Her remains has been sent for post mortem. For now, the case has been classified as sudden death.
