Kota Belud Police Chief, Supt Mohd Zaidi Abdullah said initial findings showed that villagers were passing through the woman’s lemongrass farm to get to theirs when they found her lifeless body.
They immediately informed the village chief before alerting the police.
Statements taken from the woman’s next-of-kin showed that they last met on Sept 6 and that the woman had complained of back pain.
Zaidi said the woman lived alone in her house and her daily routine included tending to her lemongrass farm. Lemongrass buyers and wholesalers will come to her house every Tuesday to buy lemongrass.
