Indonesian found drowned in Telupid

TELUPID: The body of an Indonesian was found floating near the banks of Sungai Kiabau on Tuesday afternoon.

District chief police, Supt Kasim Muda, said police received a call from public about the discovery around 1.15pm. 

It was learnt that the body was of a Timorese in his 50s, clad in T-shirt and long pants.

“The victim was believed to have been carried away by strong waves. 

“Police found no injury on the victim’s body and believed his death was not caused by foul play but due to drowning,” he said in a statement. 

The case was classified as sudden death. The victim’s body was brought to Hospital Duchess of Kent for post mortem.
