Homedec-Ipex back with 60 exhibitors

KOTA KINABALU: The Homedec and Ipex Exhibition (Homedec-Ipex) is back for the fourth time with 60 exhibitors of renowned quality and reputable brands with an aim to spur Sabah’s vision of being an industrialised state by 2030.
The three-day home design and property exhibition expects over 18,000 visitors and there are180 booths featuring exclusive deals and over 60 per cent discount on home and electrical appliances from the finest brands.

Homedec-Ipex is a collaborative effort between award-winning exhibitions organiser C.I.S Network Sdn Bhd (C.I.S) and the Sabah Chapter of Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM).
As Sabah aims to become an industrial State by 2030, Homedec-Ipex paves the way for new economic prospects for industry professionals in the State.
Deputy Chief Minister cum Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau (pic) said Sabah’s vision of achieving the status of an industrial state can be a daunting task.
“But it is attainable, especially with effective platforms such as the Homedec-Ipex exhibition where public sectors cooperate and complement the State Government’s efforts,” he said when launching the event, here, Saturday.

PAM Sabah Chapter Chairman Ar. Rizal Ahmad Banjar said the effort has opened doors for new business opportunities among exhibitors.
“It provides them with a diverse range of prices, products and services for all players in the built industry, contributing to the advancement of the architecture and home interior and design industry in East Malaysia,” he said.

He added that this edition of Homedec-Ipex will feature renowned quality and reputable brands such as Karcher, Elizone and Fotile looking for business partners in East Malaysia.
“This will help with the State’s business expansion and at the same time offer Sabahans with better job opportunities,” he said.
C.I.S President Dato Vincent Lim said they are committed to being at the forefront of the growing businesses, contributing towards transitioning Sabah and aligning with its vision 2030 to advance the industry.
“For the mutual benefit of all stakeholders, we hope to provide not just an all-inclusive exhibition for home design and interior décor but to accelerate Sabah into an industrialised State,” he said.
C.I.S has been organising the Homedec Exhibition in Sabah since 2011, while Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM) has held its flagship Ipex since 1998.
Among the highlights of this year’s edition is the Homedec contest where visitors who spend a minimum total of RM150 above in a single receipt will stand a chance to win exciting prizes courtesy of Homedec sponsors.
Exhibition-goers will be able to redeem complimentary gifts (while stocks last) when they register their attendance to visit Homedec online.
Visitors who use Fave Pay (a cashless payment app) with participating exhibitors will enjoy up to 10 per cent cash back rebates and also earn Air Asia Big Loyalty points. Also, the top spender will walk home with great prizes.
PAM will also be holding two competitions – The Edible Architecture Competition with the theme “The Icon of KK City 2030 in the making”, where students will be challenged to construct the Kota Kinabalu skyline with raw spaghetti, marshmallows and masking tape.
