Labuan school finally gets its ‘open hall’

LABUAN: The St Anthony Secondary School here, which had long been troubled by not having an “open hall” to hold a more diversified co-curriculum activities, finally got it.Local donors dug deep into their pockets and made the facility come true for the school with Member of Parliament leading the way with a RM20,000 contribution, others in the parent-teacher association led by Chia Sia Theng helped complete the needed funds.ADVERTISEMENT
Though the “open hall”, costing RM105,000 is not a major project, it is of great importance to the school and Datuk Rozman Isli performed the opening ceremony attended by the Education Director Raisin Saidin to provide a moral boost to the school.
“Facilities are important for every school to develop the mental and physical conditions of the students, so we should not underestimate the usefulness of such a project,” Rozman said.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

School principal Dona Undoh thanked the parent-teacher association as well as others who helped out in the project which included a charity dinner headed by Dr Chong Vui Hong.
Chong donated RM8,888 while the Chairman of the association Chia, RM6,000. The others who donated RM5,000 were Datuk Bashir Alias, Datuk Robert Seah, Dato Sri Goh Sin Han, Dato Celestine Goh, Goh Chan, Paul Ipoh Leokin, Wong Tack Peng, Chong Jium Fu and Nga Zheng Sian.
