Eight basketball teams to battle for title

Kota Kinabalu: The much anticipated Putatan District Basketball Association (Puba) International Basketball Invitation tournament is scheduled to begin on September 24 at the Kota Kinabalu Sports Complex.A total of eight teams from Australia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Brunei, Sarawak, Malaysia, and Sabah will battle it out for the title in the five-day event, with the match between the Malaysian squad and Beruang Blazer on September 24 at 2pm as the curtain-raiser.ADVERTISEMENT
Youth and Sports Minister Phoong Jin Zhe is set to grace the opening ceremony scheduled at 8pm, which will be preceded by matches between Cross X Over and Lord Tiger at 4pm, Red Baron and Urban Flag China at 6pm.
The first day event will come to a close with the match between Marine Iworld and Homies.
The semifinals will be staged on September 27 starting at 7pm, while the playoff on the next day (September 28), will start at 3pm with the final expected at 8pm.
Deputy Chief Ministers cum Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment Datuk Christina Liew, will grace the closing ceremony and prize presentation, according to organising chairman Tai Ket Hau, who is also the chairman of Puba.ADVERTISEMENT Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

Season tickets are priced at RM110 each, single ticket at RM20 and the tickets for the final day are at RM30 each.
