Lengthy Inanam water disruption due to pump control panel

THE Water Department clarified that the recent lengthy water disruption affecting the entire consumers in Taman Viewpoint, Inanam, was due to issues with the pump’s control panel in that neighbourhood.
On Oct 2, the residents there were forced to get treated water from elsewhere as the supplies suddenly ceased in the morning which lasted until the following day.

A Department spokeswoman, when contacted, regretted the inconveniences caused to all the residents during the span of the work to repair the faulty electrical components of the panel.
“The cause of the fault is still unknown at this stage but it was actually repaired and fully functioning in the evening of that same day,” she added.
She said the fault had resulted in the pump to run automatically without having to stop as it should when the level of water inside the storage tanks had reached its limit.
“This shouldn’t happen because the pump may get overheat and eventually stop working in the end,” she added.
