CITY HALL staff are keeping an eye on the streetlights along a Karamunsing housing road in bid to determine whether the instability of the electricity supply to these facilities is causing them to malfunction.
A spokesman for the agency said its contractor found several of the lights out of order during a recent inspection.

“We suspect that a power surge may be to blame as each instance the bulbs had blown,” he said.
“New bulbs have since been installed and the contractor has been asked to monitor the situation so that we can identify what caused them to burn out.”
He advised the public to report any irregularities involving the streetlights in the State Capital to City Hall so that action could be taken to deal with these matters as soon as possible.
CHERR of Karamunsing said the lights from one end of Jalan Sang Kancil Satu to the other had been out of operation for close to a week.

She was at a loss to understand how the agency could have turned a blind eye to these streetlight woes there.
“There have been several break-ins in the neighbourhood,” she said.
