AirAsia to boost flight frequencies, promote Sabah products

KOTA KINABALU: AirAsia will support the Sabah Government's efforts to increase direct flight frequencies to Sandakan and Tawau from various international airports within its network.
Its Group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said the group will also help in promoting Sabah-made products through its recently launched e-commerce site and also the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC).

"We are also interested to work with the Layang Layang Flying Academy to use as a training centre for our pilots," he told reporters after a courtesy call on Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal at his office at the State Administrative Centre.
Fernandes also repeated his plea for Terminal 2 of the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) in Tanjung Aru, here, to be re-opened as a low-cost hub.
