KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah-Fujian Investment and Trade Cooperation Project Launching Ceremony last Monday was not about launching KK One Project, but more on what the China province of Fujian can offer investors as well as what Fujian investors can offer places along the Belt and Road Initiative in terms of projects development.
The KK One Project is just one such proposals among other possibilities.

With reference to the Assemblyman for Tanjung Aru, Datuk Junz Wong, who is also the Minister of Agriculture and Fishery’s reported comments on the premature KK One Project launch, the matter might have been due to the press focussing on the real estate redevelopment of the abandoned Star City proposal instead of on the Fujian investment matters meant more for the business community.
The event at Hilton here was attended by about 300 Malaysia and China guests, including the Mayor and President of the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia, Tan Sri Dr TC Goh, officiated by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau cum Minister of Trade and Industry and Director-General Wu Nanxiang of the Fujian Provincial Department of Commerce.
