UMS group on working visit to Japan

TOKUSHIMA: Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) delegation visited Tokushima University, Japan in continuing the long-term collaboration for both institutions while advancing the global agenda of sustainability.
This year, there are nine lecturers and three postgraduate students from the Faculty of Business, Economics and Accountancy and Faculty of Sustainable Agriculture involved in the program including participating in the Sustainable Seminar in Tokushima 2019 (SST2019): Biodiversity, Society and Agriculture in the Future, recently.

In his speech, the seminar Chairman Emeritus Professor of Tokushima University Dr Makoto Ohashi mentioned that the objective of the seminar is to have an academic discourse on sustainability issues.
“In this seminar we are focusing on the topic such as agriculture practices, community participation and eco-product development with several innovative approaches to sustainability.
“Welcome to our university and i hope this will be a succesfull seminar and will bring benefit to to UMS and Tokushima University,” he said
.The seminar organised by Tokushima University in collaboration with UMS is the fifth seminar organised through this collaboration where the first one was held in 2015.

The seminar was officially closed by the joint representative of UMS delegation, Assoc. Prof. Dr Awangku Hassanal Bahar Pengiran Bagul and Assoc. Prof. Dr Azwan Awang.
The three-day programme consists of seminar, visiting organic farms and zero-waste village around Shikoku Island.
