TUARAN: Some 21 trainee teachers of the Teacher’s Training College (IPG) Kent Campus, Tuaran completed the Mentoring Activity Programme held at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Ruminding, Inanam, Kota Kinabalu from Oct 18 to 20, this year.
Organised by the Bachelor’s Degree Programme Unit (PISMP), the aim was to train participants to build self-confidence before experiencing real work through group activities in the interior.

Head of the delegation and accompanying lecturer, Victor Baga, said the programme also helped the two facilitators embark on a 15km walk from Kampung Poring-Poring, Inanam, Kota Kinabalu, across the Kireson Range forests.
He said participants were also exposed to perform tasks in groups and to cooperate with other participants.
“On the way to the site, six participants got lost in the jungle but were found after one of the participants used the whistle-blowing technique to locate their position.”
“At the site, among the charity work activities were participants lifting a stone from the river to the construction site of the pool for SK Ruminding,” he said.
