KOTA KINABALU: The Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance (MICG), Malaysian Institute of Integrity (Integriti) and Suria Capital Holdings Berhad will be organising the 2019 Conference on Corporate Liability–Section 17A of the MACC Act 2009 on Nov 25 at Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa (Star).

The main aim of this conference is to help participants understand the essence of the new legislation, Section 17A of Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (Amendment) Act 2018, which will come into effect in June 2020.

This amendment in particular has serious impact on companies, business entities and individual players and carries serious repercussion if breached.

Understanding its implications to directors, partners and top management is important to ensure the organisation is ready to safeguard them against a corruption prosecution.

The conference will touch, among others, on Malaysia’s national agenda to fight corruption, the legal perspective of corporate liability and the ways to create a culture of intolerance to corruption.

The presenters will include prominent speakers from National Centre for Governance, Integrity and Anti-Corruption as well as from Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance.

Guest of Honour, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, will deliver a keynote address.
