TAWAU: The success of the Sabah contingent in the national-level Potential Day this year shows the decision made by parents to send their children to Taska Permata and Tabika Kemas was right.Apas Assemblyman Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan said the victory achieved during the event at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in Penang from Sept 3 to Sept 7, had given Tawau in particular and Sabah in general a good name.ADVERTISEMENT
“This is the first time Sabah has emerged overall champion in the Potential Day,” he said when officiating at Taska Permata/Tabika Kemas Appreciation Day recently.
Some 453 pupils from 16 Taska Pertama and Tabika Kemas here received their certificates from Nizam during the event at Tawau Community Hall. Also present was People’s Development Department (Kemas) Sabah Director, Shahrulnizam Jantan.
Nizam said the responsibility of parents in providing early education to children has been overwhelming.
“I am confident that parents who are present today want to see positive development (in their children) and to tap into their children’s potential so that they (children) will overcome low self-esteem and fear,” he said.ADVERTISEMENT
He said their decision to send their children for early education is very appropriate as their potential in various fields can be tapped and improved as they grow.
Meanwhile, Shahrulnizam reminded parents not to hesitate or fear when sending their children to Tabika Kemas or Taska Permata.
