Missing Indonesian woman found murdered in Tawau

TAWAU: An Indonesian woman who was reported missing for about a week was found murdered at a plantation in Imbak, Luasong, near Kalabakan, last Friday.
District Police Chief ACP Peter Umbuas said a 40-year-old Indonesian man has been detained in connection with the case.

“The suspect was picked up about 9pm following a report lodged by the plantation’s chief security guard on the same day at 2pm,” he said, adding the victim was reported missing on Nov 3 and her body was found by her family members.
“The suspect confessed that he was involved in the case, but the motive of the killing is still under investigation,” he said.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

Peter said the paperless suspect was a drug addict and had been remanded for seven days from Nov 9.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, which carries a mandatory death penalty on conviction.
