Tribute to Tiong Hua teachers

TAWAU: Chairman of the Federation of Chinese Associations Tawau, Datuk Lim Teck Kiong paid tribute to the efforts of Tiong Hua teachers in educating the young.
He was speaking while officiating Teachers Appreciation Night and the Best Student Presentation Award 2019 at Tawau community hall recently with about 1,050 principals, teachers, students and parents.

It was one of their annual programmes to respect and appreciate the teaching efforts of Tiong Hua teachers from Tawau, Semporna and Kunak, in particular.
Lim said the teachers dedicated their lives to the education of the young and that whether they are still teaching or retired, their service will always be remembered forever.
For the excellent students, he hoped that they would become role models to other students whether academic or co-curriculum.

According to him, the Federation of Chinese Associations Tawau has been able to move forward steadily in the past 38 years with the support of the committee, members of public, government and non-government sector.

The federation is aiming to defend the rights and interests of the Tiong Hua community in Tawau as well as to effectively promote and inherit the Tiong Hua traditional culture and festivals. – Christy Chok
