Kota Kinabalu: A non-profit NGO, Caring For the Future Malaysia (CFFM) is organising a charity concert featuring Japanese pop singer Chiharu Tamashiro at STS Auditorium, Jalan Istana Bukit Bendera, here, today (Saturday).
CFFM founder cum director Abe Mitsuhiko said CFFM is operating a children’s home dedicated to help and restore hope to orphans, underprivileged and marginalised local children aged between six and 18 regardless of religion, race and ethnicity.
He said some proceeds of the charity concert would be spend for the education 13 children staying in the home that provides a safe haven for neglected and abused children located at a tranquil farm in Kg. Lingan Baru, Papar.
“CFFM helps these children through the provision of a shelter with respect, protection and love that they can call home, whilst working with them to build a sustainable future through education, healthcare, character building and vocational training.
“We are organising this charity concert to raise funds for the education of the children as well as for covering operation of the home and supplying basic amenities like water which the home is facing shortage of water now.
“CFFM is hopeful to achieve its targeted collection of RM120,000 from the concert,” he said in a press conference here on Friday.
Abe said the concert will showcase a musical extravaganza with Chiharu who will serenade her popular songs like Mirai E, Nagai Aidai, Ikitekoso and Best Friend together with Jesselton Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Yap Ling.
He said the audience will also get to hear on how her song Mirai E connected her in a special way to the children of Sabah.
“The concert themed “Celebrating Friendship” is all about people from different countries, cultures and backgrounds joining hands and working together for the betterment of the children of Sabah.
“The concert will also showcase the amazing talents of the boys from the CFFM home aged seven to 18 by playing violin who have been trained by Yap Ling. There will also be a piano rendition by Borneo Circle of Pianists.”
