Python behind the  disappearance of  three chicks in KB
KOTA BELUD: The mystery over the disappearance of three chickens a week ago in Kg Tanjung Pasir, here, was finally answered when a farmer saw a python in the act.

Masnah, 44, from Kg Sembirai, saw the incident when he arrived at the vegetable and fruit farm in the village.

“Initially, my family and I kept nine free range chickens in the shed and they went missing since last week.

Civil Defence Forces (APM) Kota Belud District Officer, Jimmy Alberto Tining, said he received a call regarding the incident at 2.56pm and four members were dispatched to the scene.

“Upon arrival, the four-metre long reptile, weighing about seven kilogrammes, was found in a chicken coop and immediately carried out a hunting operation using a constrictor and a snake catcher stick.

“Inspection around the area was also conducted and no injuries were reported,” he said.

He said the reptile was released back to its original habitat far from the area while the operation ended at 3.29pm.
