Tuaran District Public Work Department (PWD) Engineer Nelson George said it took about 17 hours of work, from 10am on Tuesday, to complete the alternative road.
“At 9.30am today (Wednesday), we had to close the road for the laying of additional gravel and the public were able to use it again in the afternoon.
“It is not fully completed and we will make sure that it is safe to use the road,” he said.
George said the PWD used two bulldozers to flatten the new road along the affected road and to build a trench for drainage.
